Example: Sara’s mom and dad worked in the yard. (____) Sara’s dad raked and burned the leaves in the yard. (____) 2.) Compound Sentence-two complete sentences joined together correctly. Ways to Combine a. Use a comma and conjunction (ForAndNorButOrYetSo) (Ex. The mosquito flew around my head, but I ignored it. b. Use a semicolon and a transitional word. (Ex. The mosquito flew around my head; however, I ignored it. c. Use a semicolon only (Ex. The mosquito flew around my head; I ignored it.
