3. Additional renewal requirements
State Requirement (SB1108).
Everyone renewing a State Professional Teaching Certificate.
20 in-service points / 1 credit hour in Teaching Students with Disabilities (SWD) as part of the required 120/6 credit hours required.

4. Single certification (non core)
Strongly recommended that single non-core certification holders, add another area, preferably in a core academic area.

5. sped only certifications
Triggered by NCLB.
Instructional Personnel with only SPED areas on certificates must add “a” core academic area. (Elementary Ed., Pre-K, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, English, or Reading)
UTD Contract Art. XII, Sec.2, E(4)… Teachers will be terminated.
