Mission: To promote and foster the development of CAMP students through peer-to-peer mentoring, professional development, and relationship building.

3 Did You Know? 33% of students who participated in internships were hired in full-time positions at the close of their internship. 50% of new hires had previous internship experience. -The National Association of Colleges and Employers

4 Benefits Hands-on experience Résumé building Networking
Leadership development Stipend: $1,200

5 $1,200 Stipend Benefit $500 stipend per semester
$200 stipend during summer for 1 week training

6 Who is Eligible? Continuing CAMP students
High level of motivation, maturity and commitment 2.5 GPA and higher Interest in developing leadership skills, giving back to other students, and gaining knowledge of on-campus resources

7 How are CAMP Leaders Selected?
Application Group interview evaluation Class schedule: Must have (2) full days open OR (3) 5-hour blocks per week GPA, courses completed in English, and math level will be considered Available every Friday’s from am for training

8 Time Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday 8:00am 9:00am MATH INTERNSHIP (7 Hours) 10:00am TRAINING 11:00am 12:00pm ENGLISH 1:00pm 2:00pm 3:00pm HISTORY 4:00pm 5:00pm BIOLOGY (Night Class)

9 The Role of the CAMP Leader
12-15 hours interning per week Entire academic year Not expected to intern during breaks Attend 1 week long orientation in the summer and weekly leadership trainings throughout the academic year Tutor, academic advising, financial guidance Behave professionally and responsibly at all times

10 The Role of CAMP Provide a positive work environment
Provide necessary training Mentor and challenge the leaders Involve the student in program planning and events Fill out an evaluation form at the end of each academic semester

11 Orientation (August) Clarifies expectations of program
Outlines responsibilities Comprehensive training on: Academic Advising Financial Aid On-Campus Resources Leadership Development

12 Weekly Trainings Every Friday 10 – 11am
Topics will vary and may include: Advising 101   FAFSA/Financial Aid/Financial Planning Retention Tools Multi-Cultural Center/WRC/Pride Global Education Services for Students with Disabilities Student Tech Center McNair Scholars Faculty Student Mentor Program
