2 A Faith That Remains Faithful
Hannah A Faith That Remains Faithful

3 Hannah’s Sorrows She was barren. She was provoked by her rival.
Was considered a great reproach upon a woman and a family (Luke 1:25). She was provoked by her rival. Hannah was miserable, she wept and did not eat. Her husband could not help the situation. He could not comfort her, and actually made the problem worse. 1 Sam. 1:1-8

4 Hannah’s Prayer 1 Sam. 1:10-11 She humbled herself before God.
Faith gives us confidence, but it will always cause us to be humble before God (1 Pet. 5:5-6). She made mention of her affliction. She cast her cares upon God (1 Pet. 5:7). She made a request of God. She asked God to give her a male child. She made a vow to God. If he did so, she would give the child to the Lord all the days of his life. 1 Sam. 1:10-11

5 Hannah’s faithfulness
She names the child “Samuel” which means “Heard of God.” When he is weaned, she takes the child to the Tabernacle and leaves him in the care of Eli, the High Priest. Hannah’s great faith is expressed in her faithfulness. She kept her word, even when it cost her dearly to do so. 1 Sam. 1:19-28

6 God takes our word very seriously!
Our faithfulness God takes our word very seriously! Under the Law of Moses, a vow was considered a sacred and binding promise – it had to be kept. Matt. 5:33-37; James 5:12 Faithfulness is a part of the Fruit of the Spirit, a part of our life - Gal. 5:22-23
