Disappointment causes unbelief, un- forgiveness, laziness, weakness setting yourself up for defeat

Disappointment is the non fulfillment of someone's hope

Have you allowed disappointment to over take your world?

Then Elkanah her husband said to her, “Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?” 9 So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle [a] of the L ORD. 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the L ORD and wept in anguish.a

11 Then she made a vow and said, “O L ORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the L ORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.”

12 And it happened, as she continued praying before the L ORD, that Eli watched her mouth. 13 Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. 14 So Eli said to her, “How long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you!”

15 But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the L ORD. 16 “Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, [b] for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now.”b

17 Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.” 18 And she said, “Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.

17 Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.” 18 And she said, “Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.

SIMPLE STEPS ON HOW TO GET PAST DISAPPOINTMENT

1) Talk with God

Psalm 18:6 (AMP) In my distress [when seemingly closed in] I called upon the Lord and cried to my God; He heard my voice out of His temple (heavenly dwelling place), and my cry came before Him, into His [very] ears.

James 4:9-10 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

1 Samuel 1:10-11 (NKJV) 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the L ORD and wept in anguish.

2) Receive Revelation

Eph. 1:17-19 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

3) Repent

1 John 1:9 NKJV If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

4) Resist the devil

James 4:7 therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

5) Leave it behind you and move forward.

Rev. 21:5-7 Then He who sat on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said to me, Write, for these words are true and faithful. And He said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.

He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

1) talk with God 2) receive revelation 3) Repent 4) resist the devil -do the opposite 5) leave it behind you and move forward.
