7 CCP Enrollment Trends NUMBER OF STUDENTS Dear Presidents and CAOs:
Attached are copies of the draft College Credit Plus rules that ODHE shared at the CCP Stakeholder meeting on Friday.  There were numerous suggested changes offered during the meeting and ODHE will be revising these draft rules based on stakeholder input, so please feel provide any feedback, information or concerns that you may have with either of these proposed rules.  Due to timing with JCARR, ODHE plans to have these rules finalized by early November in order to finalize the rules process by end of the calendar year (the rules will be in effect for the academic year). Following are a few key notes for each rule from the stakeholder meeting that I thought may be helpful as you review the drafts: COURSE ELIGIBLITY (Draft Rule ) TIERED COURSES: ODHE is proposing that the first 15 Credit Hours under CCP be a “Level I Course,” which they are generally defining as OTM, TAG and CTAG courses.  After completing 15 CHs of Level I courses, could then progress on to Level II courses. Level I courses would be one of the following: Transferable courses (i.e. OTM, TAG or CTAG). Computer science, IT or agriculture courses that are not transferable. Other courses approved by the Chancellor.

8 The Admissions Funnel Typically, admissions follows the following model: Prospect – someone who has not connected with the college, but may have interest Inquiry – the potential student has shown documented interest in the college Applicant – someone who has gone through the process of applying Registered – a student has signed up for courses Enrolled – the student has actually attended courses

9 The Funnel has Changed CCP students now often go from Prospect to Applicant without being an inquiry This is important as the inquiry stage is where students show their true interest in attending the College By skipping the inquiry stage, it makes it very difficult to determine which students are actually intending on enrolling at your institution after high school

10 The Rhodes Application Model
Once a student applies to Rhodes State College (CCP or New Student) and completes at least one course, they NEVER have to reapply. Eliminates the application process for CCP students who are seniors intent on enrolling Causes issues with enrollment reports Creates the need to determine a student’s true major Is confusing to students and parents

Multi-faceted communication plan to determine who are the CCP students that have interest in enrolling at Rhodes State after high school Letters to the family Direct communication with school counselors Superintendent, principal, and school counselor summits on campus promotion to both students and parents Texting campaign to students

15 Working the Database By using this method, we have been able to get accurate and up to date contact information for the student It allows for a comprehensive communication plan to these specific students It confirms enrollment terms and majors Provides better access for scholarships

16 The Incentives for Students
College Credit Plus Scholarship Guaranteed $1,000 first year scholarship for all past participants in CCP Must be attending the College in the Summer, Fall, or Spring directly following High School Graduation Must complete the FAFSA May renewed for an additional $1,000 in the second year if the student maintain a 3.0 GPA If student enrolls part time, the scholarship is reduced to $500 per year

17 More Incentives CCP students who complete the form are invited to “Early Scheduling Programs” First orientation programs of the year for Fall Semester in April Pre-registered for suggested classes from academic advisor Best choice of class times

18 Half Year Scholarship For students who have went to another institution or have not attended anywhere during Fall Semester directly after high school Half year $500 scholarship for full time Half year $250 scholarship for part time No new application to complete Quick online reactivation form

19 Personnel Specific campus position to work with converting CCP Seniors to enrolled post high school graduation Title – CCP Liaison Works with current and past CCP students who are in their senior year Provides pathway options for either technical degrees or 4-year pathways Works with families to discuss cost benefits Holds off-site recruitment events to help students and families complete scholarship applications

20 Results Increased yield from 54 students to 116 in first year of program – Fall 2016 to Fall 2017 Granted $44,000 more in scholarship dollars in Fall 2017 than Fall 2016 Current tracking shows that we are on pace to increase by 30% for Fall 2018 Students are engaged earlier and are less confused with process Highest ‘Welcome Day’ participation in history

21 Summary Key Points to Success Eliminate barriers for students
Don’t be afraid to communicate…the average student needs 7 messages to respond Include families Do as much electronically as you can Don’t forget about those who don’t attend right away
