1 Understanding WordPress
Your Website resides in WordPress and this is where you will edit your site.. We will focus on Navigating the site, Text, Images and Links. You will have the basics after this.. Use Enter or Arrow keys to Proceed..

2 Sign into your control panel by going to your website: (example
Sign into your control panel by going to your website: (example.com/wp-admin) Enter your user name and password and check the ‘Remember Me’ box..

3 This is your Dashboard You will Edit your site from here..

4 This is the Tool bar. The left lcon (house) takes you out to the live website.
The right icon (head profile) is where you will sign out. The Middle icons will allow you to do various things within the site.

5 The left panel is the Navigation bar
The left panel is the Navigation bar. This takes you to various areas of the site. Dashboard (at the top) will always return you to this page.

6 This is how you get to all the pages of your site you wish to edit.
All your pages are located here ‘except’ the Home page.

7 If you wanted to Delete a page, click trash. All pages work the same.
Edit | Quick Edit | Trash | View You will edit a page by mousing over the page name, then click on Edit. If you wanted to Delete a page, click trash. All pages work the same.

8 The page editor is loaded at the top of the page
The page editor is loaded at the top of the page. Here you can modify the Text: Change Fonts, change text size, Colors, Bold, Italicize, Justify, etc.. (works pretty much like Word)

9 Link Icon You can create a link with the ‘link’ icon.. Just ‘highlight’ the text you want to use, then click the link icon. Now type in the address you want to go to and click . (You can also ‘highlight’ a picture and use the ‘link’ icon to create a link)

10 The ‘Add Media’ button is where you will add pictures.

11 In the ‘Media Library’ tab You can select any picture you have previously uploaded and ‘Insert into page’

12 Use the ‘Upload Files’ tab to ‘Select’ a picture or file you want to Upload into your Media Library. You will then be able to ‘Insert’ this picture or file into your page.

13 After you have edited (made changes) to your page, click the ‘Update’ button.
(You can view your page ‘Live’ on your website by clicking the ‘View Page’ link)

14 You can add a new page to your site by clicking the ‘Add New’ button.
Edit | Quick Edit | Trash | View You can add a new page to your site by clicking the ‘Add New’ button. After you give it a name, save it by clicking ‘Publish’ on the right side of that page.

15 Look at the bottom of the page list to locate the newly added page
Look at the bottom of the page list to locate the newly added page. You can now drag it anywhere in the Menu Structure to position it where you want it. You can also drag the other pages to reposition them as well.. NOTE: After you add a new page you will need to update the menu. (Go to: Appearance, then Menus) You will be able to see your newly created page at the top of the Most Recent list. Check the box next to your new page, then click on ‘Add to Menu’. Your page will now appear at the bottom of the ‘Menu Structure’ area. Drag the page up into the menu structure and click ‘Save Menu’ when finished…

16 To edit your Home Page, click on ‘Customize Your Site’ from your Dashboard

To edit your Home Page, click on the links in the left panel. Different themes have different options, but basically they allow you to edit your Home page and other features of your site. It’s always a good idea to have a recent backup of your site b/4 you experiment here..

19 Backup your site by clicking ‘Backup’ (Full Backup)..
The latest backup appears at the top of the list.. You can also Delete a backup Download a backup or Restore a backup

There is more to your site than this brief overview covers. You are encouraged to explore the Dashboard and see where it takes you. Get in the habit of backing up your site after updates and also before trying something different. You can always restore your site to it’s previous condition if your experiment doesn’t work out as planned..

21 Thank you for the opportunity to assist with your website needs. As you can see, your website is not complicated and only needs a minimum of attention to keep it updated. There are many other things you can do with this site such as changing it’s appearance, adding subpages, adding Plug ins, etc.. It is suggested that you become proficient in editing this site first, then move forward with changes after that.
