1st Method:
1. Break the irregular shape up into known figures.
2. Find the area of each known figure.
3. Add all areas together to find the area of the irregular figure.

Fill in the missing space.
Find the area of the large, filled in figure. Then, find the area of smaller shape.
Subtract. Area of large – Area of small = Area of composite figure
