We must have confidence in ourselves and our roles. Demonstrate value / impact of profession / job role.
Ask yourself where you can say “I’m having an impact…”
Get voices heard at grass routes level – run courses, write blog posts, speak at conferences. All these propel profession forward

6. Plan for Success Step 1: Decide what you want from your career
Step 2: Make a detailed plan of the steps you intend to take to get there
Step 3: Read over the plan regularly
Step 4: Make a list of any weaknesses that are obstacles to your success. Overcome them one by one.

7. Step 5: Realise it’s okay to stray from the plan – Life has a habit of unfolding in ways which may be unforeseen at this stage. The key is to keep reviewing and realigning as you progress.
Step 6: Ask for what you want. Would you benefit from work shadowing / volunteering / advice from others? Get in touch. Seek the means of getting it. People are far more friendly and willing to help than we often anticipate.
Step 7: Take time to regularly make note of the progress you are making Keep notes of the everyday things you achieve – big and small - these make good things to think about for future interviews, think ‘evidence’.
