5 Challenges Imposter Syndrome - does this ever happen to you?
We must have confidence in ourselves and our roles. Demonstrate value / impact of profession / job role. Ask yourself where you can say “I’m having an impact…” Get voices heard at grass routes level – run courses, write blog posts, speak at conferences. All these propel profession forward Unique angles based on your own background We need more people to speak up to achieve greater diversity in the profession

6 Plan for Success Step 1: Decide what you want from your career
Step 2: Make a detailed plan of the steps you intend to take to get there Step 3: Read over the plan regularly Step 4: Make a list of any weaknesses that are obstacles to your success. Overcome them one by one.

7 Step 5: Realise it’s okay to stray from the plan – Life has a habit of unfolding in ways which may be unforeseen at this stage. The key is to keep reviewing and realigning as you progress. Step 6: Ask for what you want. Would you benefit from work shadowing / volunteering / advice from others? Get in touch. Seek the means of getting it. People are far more friendly and willing to help than we often anticipate. Step 7: Take time to regularly make note of the progress you are making Keep notes of the everyday things you achieve – big and small - these make good things to think about for future interviews, think ‘evidence’.
