3 01 Getting Started Your File Sync and Share tool allows you to:
Access your work content 24/7, from any device Collaborate with members of your organization, and with people outside of your organization Restore file revisions and deleted content Back up local folders Audit activity

4 Logging In As a first step, find your welcome and log in to the web portal. Navigate to the URL listed in your (for example, Enter your username (or ) and password. Click the Log In button.

5 Viewing the Web Portal Now that you have access to the web portal, you can view all of your synced files and folders.

7 Downloading the Desktop Client and Mobile Apps
02 Downloading the Desktop Client and Mobile Apps Not only do you have access to the web portal—where you can view, download, and edit all of your work content—you can download agents and apps to give you access to your content across all of your preferred devices.

8 Download Clients & Apps
Click the Download button to access the clients and apps available to you.

9 View Mobile Apps You can click to view the mobile apps available to you, and then download them from your mobile app.

10 Desktop Client Options
But as a first step, click the Windows Client button or Mac Client button to download the desktop client to your local machine.

11 Download the Desktop Client
The selected file will start to download to your local machine.

12 Find in the Installation File
Find the downloaded installation file (for example, in your Downloads folder), and click to start the installation process.

13 Install the Desktop Client
Click the Next button to start the installation process. In most instances, you can accept the default settings.

14 Register the Desktop Client
Next, you need to register the desktop client. Enter the and password found in your Welcome ; then click the Next button.

15 Launch the Synced Folder
Click the system tray icon, and then click the Open Local folder icon to open your synced folder.

16 Green = Complete Blue = Syncing Start Syncing Now that the desktop client is registered, you’ll be able to sync content between your desktop client and the cloud.

03 Sharing and Collaborating In addition to syncing your content, you can also share your content with internal users and with external, third parties.

19 Standard Folder Team Share Team Shares A Team Share is a shared folder where subscribers can view and edit the same content. Team Shares are essentially a shared work space.

20 File and Folder Locking
When you work within Team Shares, you have access to the File and Folder Locking feature. When you lock a file or folder, you are giving yourself exclusive editing rights. Team Shares are only available for you and your coworkers.

21 Share Links If you would like to send a direct share link (URL) to a file or folder, simply right-click the file, point to the context menu, and select Share Link.

22 Collaborate Online You can even edit files in real time—with multiple coauthors—using the Collaborative Web Editor. Right-click a supported file, point to the context menu, and select Open in Web Editor.

24 Restoring Files and Folders
04 Restoring Files and Folders As an added benefit, you can restore older versions of your files (called revisions) or even deleted files and folders. In this way, your File Sync and Share tool protects your data from being lost, stolen, or corrupted.

25 Restoring Revisions If you would like to restore a previous version of a file, right-click a file, point to the context menu, and select View Revisions.

26 Select a Revision The Browse File Revisions page displays, allowing you to select the version to restore. 26

In the web portal, you can also restore a deleted file. Click the Restore Deleted button to view deleted files and folders (they will display as semi-transparent). Then, right-click a file or folder and select Restore. 27

29 Backing Up Local Folders
05 Backing Up Local Folders The Backups feature allows you to create backups of folders that exist on your local machine. All new changes are continuously backed up. The backup can be accessed, managed, and restored from the web portal. As a best practice, only back up important personal files, including Microsoft Office content, pictures, PDFs, and so forth. These files are typically stored in a user directory or a home folder.

On your local machine, right-click a folder and select Back up this folder.

31 View Backups In the web portal, click the Backups tab to view—and optionally restore—backed up content. 31

33 Tracking with the File Report and Activity Log
06 Tracking with the File Report and Activity Log You can use the web portal to monitor your files, folders, and Team Shares. For example, you can access the Activity Log page, the File Reports page, and the Shares page to keep track of file listings and activity that affects synced and shared content.

34 View Shares Using the Shares tab, you can view and manage Team Shares and share links. You can even delete share links if recipients no longer need access. 34

35 View the File Report Use the File Report to keep track of all content available to you within the system. 35

36 View the Activity Log The Activity Log provides an overview of all activity—including modifications and deletions—within the system. You can even use filters to quickly find the information you need. 36
