3 Seminar I : Spring 2018 Please mark the following dates on your calendar: All dates are Wednesdays during PAWS unless otherwise specified. January 24: Guest Speaker (Theater) February 7: Design Thinking activity (Classrooms) March 7: Guest Speaker (Small Gym) April 4: Guest Speaker (Small Gym) Also, please note that ALL written assignments must be submitted to your PAWS portfolio for GPS I credit and to continue to GPS II. If you did not turn in all assignments from first semester, please do so ASAP!

4 Seminar II: Spring 2018 GPS North GPS South GPS East
Please mark the following dates on your calendar. All sessions will be held in Room A209, the GPS resource room. GPS North GPS South GPS East Wed. 1/24 Thurs. 1/25 Wed. 1/31 Wed. 2/28 Thurs. 3/1 Wed. 3/7 Please note that you must complete all session assignments to fulfill the requirements for Seminar II and to continue to Seminar III. If you have make-up assignments to submit, please see Mr. Yoder. We also STRONGLY SUGGEST starting your service hours or having a plan for completion.

January 24: Guest Speaker (Library) February 28: Guest Speaker (Library) March 21: Capstone Project First Steps (Library) April 4: Capstone Project Next Steps (Library) Please note that you must complete all session assignments and service hours to fulfill the requirements for Seminar III and to continue to Seminar IV. If you have make-up assignments to submit, please see Mr. Navone or Mrs. Malaspino.

Evening with Holocaust Survivor JANUARY 31 7 p.m. Placer County Fairgrounds International Night (WLSS event): March 8 EVENING GPS IV Capstone Presentations: March 12, 13, 19 and 20 AFTER SCHOOL You are encouraged to attend! These events may count as make-up sessions.

8 SERVICE REQUIREMENTS Complete 12 hours of verified, globally focused service. Typically completed during 10th and 11th grade Service completed before 10th grade MAY count with prior approval. Service Verification Forms are Available on the GPS page on the Folsom HS website, or in Mr. Navone’s, Mr. Yoder’s, or Mrs. Malaspino’s classrooms. Submit completed forms to Mr. Navone, Mr. Yoder, or Mrs. Malaspino to be logged as progress. Completed forms will be retained in your GPS folder.

9 Registration Registration PAWS presentations are coming soon! 9th grade: February 28 10th grade: February 7 11th grade: January 31 Registration for GPS Program is for a full year. GPS designated courses are open to GPS students only. On your registration form, please indicate whether you plan to continue or drop the program for next year.

11 SPECIAL DIPLOMA HONORS AVAILABLE TO GPS STUDENTS:
AP International Diploma AP Capstone Diploma (Pending Approval) Score 3 or higher on 5 or more AP exams. Send scores to a University outside the US. Must include: Category 1: Languages 2 diff. WL courses OR 1 WL and 1 English Category 2: Global Perspective APES or APHuG count Category 3: Science, Math or Computer Science Category 4: One additional AP Exam Not to include English or WL May include Capstone AP Seminar: GPS English 2 and/or AP Seminar (Elective) to be potentially offered Fall 2018 AP Research (Elective) to be potentially offered for Fall 2019
