5 It is written without Germany present - it is forced to sign when it is complete.
France wants revenge and the allies should occupy Germany. Wilson’s ideas are ignored – U.S. didn’t want to punish Germany or gain territory. The U.S. never signs the treaty of Versailles – Separate treaty conditions of Treaty of Versailles

6 Germany to reduce army, navy and eliminate air force (100,000 men) Disarmament

10 German Territorial Loses
Germany lost territory to France and Poland, as well as all of its overseas colonies. Germany lost its navy, while its army was reduced to a small police force. Germany was forced to accept blame for starting the war and was required to play huge reparations (payment for damages) to the Allies. THE PEACE TERMS THAT ENDED WORLD WAR I Austria-Hungary and Turkey League of Nations The Austro-Hungarian Empire was divided up into several smaller states. New nations were formed in Eastern Europe. Turkey lost most of its territories in the Middle East The Treaty of Versailles created the League of Nations, an organization of nations that agreed to defend each other against aggressors. However, many major world powers, such as the United States and Russia, refused to join the League.
