2 Motivation/Background
Two decades of conflict Context of deep- rooted harmful gender norms 64% women report ever experiencing physical or sexual intimate partner violence 2 decades of on and off conflict During times of conflict and crisis, violence toward women and girls worsens, leading to increases in sexual exploitation, domestic violence, forced marriage, rape, and transactional and prostituted sex. Intervention: transformative individual behavior change examine the gendered impact of conflict and how they have been socialized informed by women’s voices and priorities

3 Research questions Main outcome of interest: Perpetration (men)/Experience (women) of intimate partner violence Sub-questions: Intermediate steps in behavior change Gender attitudes/beliefs Participation in household tasks Sharing of household decision-making Variations in treatment to be tested Comparing treatment to control group

4 Evaluation design (I) Blocked Randomized Controlled Trial
Randomization at an individual level Treatment at group level Funding for groups Statistical power needs ~50 groups
