5 Weekly Homework 1 hour of reading for the week
Doesn’t matter how many minutes per day, as long as it totals 60 minutes for the week MUST have signature to verify reading Minutes can count toward reading incentive program (yellow record sheet)

Fluency Students read passage at least 3x aloud, but the more practice, the better! Requires parent signature on green sheet Timing unnecessary Goal is fluid, expressive, accurate reading

Writing Must choose 1 option, but can choose to do both Students should complete writing on their own, with some assistance Final draft: correct spelling of common words, correct punctuation and capitals May submit electronically with Google Docs (see pink parent letter)

Math Fact Fluency 20 minutes, over the course of the week Can be flashcards, computer programs, apps, verbal quizzes Requires parent signature

9 Weekly Homework: Scoring
Score Description 6 Extra credit! Double work in reading and writing. Practically perfect! 5 Extra credit! Double work done in one sections. Neat and error-free. 4 Required homework is complete, with signatures 3 One section is incomplete, minor errors 2 More than one section is incomplete 1 One or more sections missing

11 Incentive Programs Homework: earn a week (or 2) off
Two 5s in a row = a week off One 6 = a week off A 5, followed by a 6 = two weeks off Reading Minutes: earn special status and prizes 350 Min =Bachelor’s 650 Min =Master’s 1000+ Min =Ph.D
