A government portal is to be developed to aggregate all information and services in one place based on the life-event-cycle. A gateway for security/authentication is to be developed with web based workflow for interconnection of back-end systems

e-Government Architectural framework At the “front end” the principal entry point will be the government portal. The “middleware”, the tier that enables interoperability, security and authentication, the government gateway. The “back-end” government departments and other systems and processes involved in service delivery. GDN and GIN

e-Government Government Data Network (GDN) GDN is a broadband network based on ATM/ frame relay technology over which all government systems will be interconnected to exchange information utilising web work flow technologies

e-Government Government Internet Node (GIN) GIN provides an interface between Government Information Systems and the Internet. It allows civil servants to communicate within the government (Intranet) and with external users or vice versa (Extranet)

About 100 websites will be developed related to the activities of each and every Ministry/ Department/Service. So far 60% of these websites have been completed and the remaining are expected to be completed by the end of the year 2004.
