Whilst many disputes or causes of action, such as maintenance- or domestic violence matters are clear examples of Family Law, divorces are mainly associated with Family Law. The attorneys working in our family law department attend to all matters relating to Family Law.
Labour Law
The labour and employment law department of the firm deals with all aspects pertaining to fair labour practices, unfair dismissals and employees’ rights in the workplace. Default judgments are listed against your name by the various credit bureaus which then negatively affect your credit record. Uncontested Divorce
Should parties not come to a quick settlement, taking the matter to trial could become highly expensive. Our attorneys assisting with divorces therefore encourage settlement between the parties, where possible. In circumstances where the rights of the minor children are affected, it is of paramount importance to ensure that such settlement is in the best interest of the children. The Family Advocate will be required to approve and endorse the settlement agreement to ensure that the rights of the minor child/children are protected. By settling the matter, the parties can finalise the divorce within months by way of an unopposed application procedure and thereby reducing the financial, emotional, and personal pressure brought about by divorce proceedings.
