5 Customize Tools>User Preferences
Solving the mysteries behind the tabs…..

6 User Preferences>General tab
General tab is used to Save your Look and Feel settings from View changes

7 User Preferences>Setup tab
The Setup tab has two sub-tabs Miscellaneous & Sorting Miscellaneous tab: What happens after you save Default is Close record after saving Consider Switch record to Read mode after saving

8 User Preferences>Setup tab
Sorting tab: Can customize to how you want to pull up items when in Setup Example: If I change my preference to Location, then ID, then Ascending, it will pull up your data by Location starting at A at the top.

Inventory tab: How your Search behaves in Lot Records 1. Determines where your curser will default when Lot Records is open 2. Can change flags to default in the Flags field in Lot Records 3. Can default the Status to show only what you want

Default curser in Lot Records by either Lot record number or Lot Number

Flags: The flags chosen will display when searching

Sorting tab has two tabs – Search and QC Orders Search is how the Lot Record will display in Search Results box QC Order is how the orders display in the Orders tab in the Lot Record. For More than 200 records consider changing to Descending and the most recent will show at the top.

Saves lots and lots of clicking on More Records and scrolling…… to get to the most recent record.

15 User Preferences>Result Entry
Result entry – Miscellaneous tab It is assumed that if an Order is opened in Result entry you will want it in Edit mode. Help text can be turned off by unchecking the “Show Text on the buttons” box.

If you want the most recent on top then choose Sort by: Scheduled and Descending. It will only change the display for Result Entry and not Resulting worklist.

Miscellaneous sub-tab will determine in the Search lot records by…where the curser will default when creating a new order.

23 Order Status Order status codes show up in Order Entry, Resulting Worklists and if you click on the Order status button in Resulting

Notes Sections are for “Notes” to the users For example directing the user to enter a required comment or document Users cannot enter Notes

33 Bridging, Bridging, Bridging!
Using Right click you can Bridge to different areas of TQC with a right and left click

34 Bridging Bridging also works from TQC and Lab to bridge to the Lot Record

35 Bridging Bridge to Equipment Record from Order – Who knew! (a hidden mystery) Bridge to equipment maintenance record by right clicking in the Lot number empty box to Bridge to Maintenance Record

37 Graphing In Review Worklist>use + to expand to see results>if you double click on a numeric value it will open the corresponding graph

38 Graphing Can Click on QC Result Graph on the instrument menu to see the graph of the values Note: Client must have >4.5 Lab Version for this process to function

40 Finding a Related Patient Order from TQC
Finding a specific Patient Order which was performed against a specific TQC Order Great for Inspections! Or Recalls! Can do from Lot Record or Individual order Open an order in TQC Result Entry (not from the TQC Resulting Worklist) Click on Tools>Reports>Related Patient Orders>Lab or Mic (QC flags must be set on the test) A new window will open and prompt for a log in. You do not need to do anything…it will auto-login and display the order in Lab or Mic.

A different box will display Choose either a Time Frame or the Entire Lot There is a limit as to how many SoftLab Order numbers are able to display. Click on OK

For Gene modules use Tools>Reports>Related Worksheets/Plates Same process Tools>Reports>Related Worksheets/Plates

Will Return the worksheets/plates which are related to the TQC order

47 Edit Batch vs Save Edit Batch Save If changes are made and the Edit Batch button is activated then the Edit Batch mode can be used to change more than one record at a time

48 Batch Edit Note: Batch Edit cannot be used for all items in a record
Some items still have to be edited individually

49 Edit Batch Edit Batch button> Yes to save current record
New Search Screen will appear Select the items you want>click OK> and Finish

50 Edit Batch The Edit Batch screen will display what will be updated/edited. All checked items will be updated when you click on Save Click Save at the bottom to complete the action It will show you what is changing before you Save

51 Linking Performing Workstation Tests
Setup>Tests>Related Tests/QC Parameters

52 Linking Performing Workstation Tests
Old way Import Test with Performing Workstation and then make Not Active Link imported Not Active test to the one carrying the QC New way Use +f button and add a line to the Related Test/QC Parameters Magic Button!

53 Linking Performing Workstation Tests
Type in Test code (name does not matter) and choose the performing workstation from the dropdown under workstation Name in most cases will not match and that is okay. ID must match!

54 Review of Cancelled Orders
Review of Cancelled orders is not currently an option available TQC – It is being added in a future code.  Workaround - Review cancelled orders by adding a Review Result Action Find your cancelled orders

55 Review Cancelled Orders
Select the Orders you want to put the Action on Click on Result Action

Send QC Item ID across to Right with > or >> Once items are sent to the right, Click on OK

Choose your Action and add your comments Click on OK

Click on Yes to complete process The Action will now be attached to the Items you chose.

59 Instrument Test Expiration Duration
Tests can be set to expire at specific time durations set on the Instrument setup tab

60 Expected Results Column
If you add in the Expected column in TQC it will also show up in Lab/Mic when TQC Orders display The column must be added for each type of result (Equipment vs Control/Reagent)

61 Expected Results Column
Customization box will display Left Click on the Expected column header and drag and drop it on the column headers where you want it. The arrows will show where it is being placed.

The Expected results display can be modified Open Setup record for Control or Kit Click on Additional Info button (at bottom) Flags Display Expected Results Use the dropdown menu to choose which display you want

Can set for Mean, Range, or Mean, SD to display in Result Entry

64 Reports - Maintenance Log Report
This Report will find Actions documented on this tab

65 Reports Easy way to look and see when something or how many times it was done is by using the funnel function

67 Reports - Custom Grid Option
In the Format tab for some reports there is the option to do Custom Grids The custom grid feature allows you to modify the report display Not all Reports have this feature

Move columns from Available columns to Selected columns and visa versa When in the Selected columns the numbers must add up to If you add or remove columns, you have to Recalculate so the number will equal 100

70 Finding QC Parameters Click on QC Parameters Click on the Open folder
Click on More button until you have all the records within the Search Results grid

Choose Filter Editor

72 Finding QC Parameters Left click on “Begins with” and change to “Contains”

73 Finding QC Parameters In the “enter a value” field type in a key word you are looking for Then click OK System will return only values which contain the key word To clear the search click on the Red X

Populate all of the items like we did previously with the More button Click on Print Leave selection on Preview Click Run

75 Finding QC Parameters A new tab will open with all of the QC Parameters in a PDF file Click anywhere on the page Hold down the Ctrl button and click the F on the keyboard A Find window will open Type in key word Click on Next in Find box

76 Finding QC Parameters The system will then find any matches in the report one at a time each time you click on the Next or Previous button

77 “Fake” Canned Comments
Addition of “canned comments” in the Notes Section – builder adds in Action Setup Canned comments added to this section to allow for copy and paste ability

When adding an Action to an out of control item click in the Notes section Highlight and right click to copy
