Following P.E scheme of work To play competitive games and apply basic principles suitable for attacking and defending Science – Humans and Animals Pupils should be able to : - Describe the changes as humans develop to old age. Describe the differences in the life cycle of a mammal, an amphibian, an insect and a bird. Describe the life process of reproduction in some plants and animals. History – Crime and Punishment in Manchester Pupils should be taught: - A study of an aspect of history or a site dating from a period beyond 1066 that is significant in the locality. Other Information An in-depth study into Manchester, focussing on the aspect of crime and punishment. Art – Self Portraiture Pupils are to develop their techniques, including their control and their use of materials, with creativity, experimentation and an increasing awareness of different kinds of art, craft and design. Pupils will improve their mastery of art and design techniques, including drawing, painting and sculpture with a range of materials [for example, pencil, charcoal, paint, clay] English Persuasive Writing Performance Poetry Book Study Play Scripts Being Human Year 5 Summer 1 Enrichment Trip to Chester Zoo Mathematics Place Value (Decimals) Fractions Time Geometry Addition and Subtraction Multiplication and Division Music To create and compose music on their own and with others To use technology appropriately To understand how music is created Additional Information Pupils to use garage band and instruments in school to record music and add own effects Computing – Photostory Select, use and combine a variety of software (including internet services) on a range of digital devices to design and create a range of programs, systems and content that accomplish given goals, including collecting, analysing, evaluating and presenting data and information Use technology safely, respectfully and responsibly; recognise acceptable/unacceptable behaviour; identify a range of ways to report concerns about content and contact.
