6 Choosing a Christian Name
Pick the name of someone you admire Choose a Saint that is the patron Saint of an interest you have Choose a Saint whose life you find inspiration in Make sure you know about your saint. The bishop may ask about the saint or why that saint’s name was chosen or what about that saint was of interest or was relatable. Where to look for names Saints books are available to use in our office Websites – Remember that many names are a derivative of another name…for example Michelle from Michael

Please give us 10 days turn around in case it’s a vacation week. - Must complete 10 hours – at least 5 of those hours need to be tied to the Corporal Works of Mercy -WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE SAFETY OF CANDIDATES AT THE PLACES THEY CHOOSE TO DO SERVICE. THEREFORE, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT A PARENT STAYS WITH THEM WHILE VOLUNTEERING.

9 (needs to be legible or it will be returned to be rewritten)
Letters to the bishop Each candidate (not parent!) writes a handwritten letter to the bishop requesting to be confirmed. (needs to be legible or it will be returned to be rewritten) Candidates are given guidance as to what needs to be included in the letter. These instructions will print out with the Confirmation packet. Once we have all the letters they are reviewed by myself and Fr. Bob and then are passed on to the Chancery. These letters are to be handwritten on a nice sheet of 8 ½” x 11”paper.

10 YOUTH MINISTRY OUR PARISH HAS STARTED A NEW YOUTH MINISTRY INITIATIVE
Watch the bulletin for information in the future.

11 What is the date for Confirmation?
Our dates (we usually have 2) are set by the Chancery. They have many parishes to schedule for Confirmations so this takes time. We often do not receive our dates until August or even the beginning of September of It could be earlier or it could be later. When we know the date I will immediately send out an with the information to you. Please do not call the office for the date. If we haven’t sent the , we do not have it yet. Once the date is sent it will be put on the website.
