6 Cost About $5,000/year Scholarships available through each campus
Lowest in the UW System Save thousands before transferring Scholarships available through each campus FAFSA by April 1st We’ve all heard it, going to college can be expensive, but it doesn’t have to be a huge financial burden if you weigh your options. Here is a break down of the average yearly tuition costs of attending a variety of types of schools. At a UW Colleges 2 year campus, the average annual tuition costs are 5,000 dollars. Now, it is important to understand what tuition consists of, so what does the cost of tuition cover? (classes/credits/only the time spent in class—something along these lines) Let’s compare that to the average yearly tuition of a UW 4 year campus which is 8,500 dollars. UW-Madison is the highest with nearly 10,500 dollars per year and UW-Milwaukee is next at just over 9,000 per year just in tuition. That means that a student who attends UW-Marshfield is going to save more than $5,000 over someone taking the EXACT same classes at UW-Madison! At a private university, the average annual tuition is 25,000 dollars. By beginning your college career at a UW Colleges campus like UW-Barron County, you could save an average of 3,500 to 20,000 dollars depending on which 4 year campus you were hoping to attend. There are also other ways to save by attending a UW Colleges 2 year campus. Most of our campuses participate in a textbook rental program which can save you hundreds of dollars each semester. Has anyone ever had to buy a textbook before? They can run anywhere from $30 to $ and those costs add up. Does your high school make you pay for parking? At college you may have to pay for a parking permit. (I like to tell a story here about parking at UWEC during my undergrad days)…Only 2 of the UW Colleges campuses require payment for parking and it is minimal.
