Some examples of expenses not allowed: Food, except in the case of per diem reimbursement Alcohol of any kind, in any circumstance Entertainment Social activities

Some examples of allowable costs: Stipends for educators to participate in professional learning experiences relevant to literacy plan implementation Capital expenditures for special purpose equipment (Items with a unit cost of $5,000 or more must have the prior written approval of KSDE.) It is our belief that these funds should be focused on providing improved literacy learning for children and families. Should a district or consortium choose to claim indirect costs, the maximum indirect cost amount will be: -Average of indirect rates for consortium districts applied to salaries/fringe and travel only (for consortia). -State-provided indirect rate for district applied to salaries/fringe and travel only (for single-district applicants).
