3. Workspace Envy
Got workspace problems? Timeline disappeared? Can’t find Effect Controls? Accidentally pressed some X’s?
To reset your workspace
Window, Workspace, Editing

4. Where’s the Effects? In the Project window
See the tab?
If it’s missing, reset your workspace
Note the Effects and Transitions are both in the Effects group

5. Exporting
If you are burning to a DVD, you will export your finished product by clicking File, Export, Movie.
If you are NOT, you will want to save in a much smaller format for uploading to the internet or watching on a computer!

6. Exporting Smaller File Size
Click File, Export, Adobe Media Encoder
Various settings you might choose—
WM9 NTSC 512K
320x240
roughly 4 MB for one minute of video

7. Or… If you want a bigger video window you could also customize:
Pick Windows Media Video 8 for LAN (768 Kbps)
Click Audiences (left)
Set to 640x480 in frame width/height
Click OK
Note: You can click the little disk up there and save this setting as something

8. Close that Gap! Deleting a bad part of a clip and have a gap?
Easily close it by right clicking and choosing Ripple Delete
It scoots the timeline clips down for you

9. Disconnect Video from Audio
Right click the video line
Click Unlink Audio and Video
