Estates General- An assembly of representatives of all the Estates.

Tennis Court Oath” The delegates pledge to stay until they formed a new constitution.
Great Fear: A wave of panic and fear that swept accross France. The peasants became violent when it was feared the nobles were going to terrorize them.

Bastille: A Prison/ fortress in France.
Bastille Day: Celebrating the day the peasents attacked the Bastille, freeing prisoners and taking weapons. July 14.

However there was great unrest. Social inequity, economic problems because of bad harvest.
