1 Fascism on Two Political Spectrums
(Previously titled: Europe Between WW I & WW II Fascism on Political Spectrum)

2 Origins ‘FASCISM’ The term FASCISM is derived from the Latin word fasces: a bundle of rods that were tied around an axe, which was an ancient Roman symbol of the authority of the civic magistrate. The fasces suggested strength through unity: a single rod is easily broken, while the bundle is difficult to break. (wikipedia)

3 Examples of fasces in monuments, official buildings, etc:

4 Mussolini first, then Hitler
In Italy, Mussolini was the first to use the term, and in many ways he created the political pattern Hitler followed Hitler used that pattern to organize and rally Germans, but added his own ideas. Il Duce Der Führer

5 Fascism and Socialism on the Political Spectrum
(Far) Left Middle (Far) Right Liberals Conservatives FASCISTS SOCIALISTS COMMUNISTS NAZIS, etc. The answer: ORDER & AUTHORITY The answer: REVOLUTION State ownership of industry, land, etc. (means of production) One-party state, dictatorial, oppressive (in practice) “From each according to ability, to each according to need.” (in theory) Raises nation and race over the individual, Features a centralized, autocratic govt. with a dictatorial leader, Severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

6 ANOTHER WAY OF VIEWING MATTERS:
