2. VendingMiser® Live

It is based on nine weeks of live readings from a Wi-Fi enabled meter specially designed for Sanders and Associates. This documents the readings of a VM170 VendingMiser®EZ connected to a Dixie Narco DN600 cold beverage vending machine to demonstrate the energy savings of VendingMisers. The following provides key operational features of the VendingMiser:
It will not interrupt (short cycle) the compressor when it is running.
Plus the VendingMiser® will wait until the area has been vacant for 15 minutes before shutting down the machine.
Patented Malfunction Alert: The PIR sensor for the EnergyMiser® will display a red light as a malfunction alert if the compressor has not stop running for 12 hours signaling a need for vending machine service.
The VendingMiser will modulate the refrigeration system to maintain peak performance and yet save energy. This is one reason why it was patented.
VendingMisers offers far more “sustainable” energy savings over a five (5) year period than most other energy conservation technologies.

It begins with the Wi-Fi enabled meter pictured above designed and manufactured exclusively for Sanders and Associates. It provides live kWh readings in two minute intervals. The readings are uploaded to a dedicated web site.

11. How it works
Saving Energy
The external VendingMiser® and CoolerMiser® of the EnergyMiser® family, like the one shown above, uses a PIR sensor connected to the controller which is mounted on the machine or wall behind the machine to monitor room occupancy and temperature. If 15 minutes pass without any pedestrian traffic, the EnergyMiser® will power down the machine to save energy providing the compressor is not running. The machine is powered back up when people return and at regular intervals to keep the product cold.
Patented Malfunction Alert: The PIR sensor for the EnergyMiser® will display a red light as a malfunction alert if the compressor has not stop running for 12 hours signaling a need for vending machine service.
The internal VM2iQ VendingMiser uses sales-based intelligence to power down the cooling system while leaving lighting and controller electronics on. VM2iQs are best suited for machines with card readers and high traffic areas and it was originally designed to upgrade vending machines to Energy Star standards.
