5 Types of Users Portal User Partner Portal Administrator (PPA)
11/7/2018 Types of Users Portal User Has access to all site’s content with the exception of management information Partner Portal Administrator (PPA) Authorized to maintain company profile and manage user access rights Partner Portal Management User (PPM) Has access to restricted information e.g. purchase price, order status There are different levels of User responsibilities, or levels of access to the HP Partner Portal: As a general Portal User, you will have access to all of the site’s content, with the exception of management information. The other types of users include: Partner Portal Administrators, or PPAs, who are authorized to maintain company profile information, create new users, and manage user access rights. Portal Management Users who are able to view sensitive data on the portal such as purchase pricing and order status. HP_presentation_template 5

6 How to obtain a Partner Portal Account
11/7/2018 How to obtain a Partner Portal Account Two options available: Self-register Company’s Partner Portal Administrator (PPA) can set up Benefit of having your PPA set up your account: The PPA can assign either PPA or PPM responsibilities to your account Contact Partner Portal Support if you do not know who your PPA is A person can obtain a Partner Portal account by one of the following two options: Self-register on the Partner Portal Have your company’s Partner Portal Administrator, or PPA, set up the account The benefit of having the PPA set up your account is that the PPA can provide you with one of the two higher levels of access (PPA or Portal Management User). If you do not know the identity of your PPA, contact the HP Partner Portal Support team to request this information. HP_presentation_template 6

7 Forgot Password/Forgot User ID
11/7/2018 Forgot Password/Forgot User ID Forgot Password feature allows you to initiate a password reset Forgot User ID allows instant recovery using your address for verification For Portal Users, the process is immediate with no waiting for an response. For PPAs, a more secure process is in place and they will receive an with the process to follow. Note: These links are available on the sign-in page. Use this process prior to contacting support. For individuals who already have Partner Portal accounts but do not remember the user name or password, Partner Portal provides a feature which will enable those users to initiate a password/user id reset directly from the site. This allows Users to complete the change without having to contact support, and allows general portal users to complete the change entirely on the site. It is important to note that there is a more secure version of the Forgot Password/User ID feature for PPAs. Once a PPA clicks on Forgot Password or Forgot User ID, he or she will receive an with further instructions. This ensures that only the rightful owner of the address on file is able to reset the password for a PPA. We recommend using this function to reset your password before contacting the support team. The left navigation panel provides “anytime” access to content categories including logistics, prices, products, programs, services, support, and more The HP Partner Portal web site provides a wealth of resources, both sales and marketing and technical. From the left navigation panel you can: View your technicians’ certifications or become an HP Certified Professional by accessing the resources available under Train and certify Track your orders and report sales using Logistics tools Access marketing tools and partner insignia files from the Marketing Toolkit Access the Standard Pricing Viewer or other price lists from the Prices page Access the Product Catalog to download a product data sheet or other product content from the Products page View program guidelines, eligibility criteria, and access marketing and sales programs from the Programs page Look up current promotions Attend a sales or technical training course. The My Account page allows you to view and manage your Personal and Company profiles. From this page you can: View your company’s current program participation PPAs can apply for additional programs and addenda Users can update their personal information and and news subscriptions PPAs can manage contacts and Users for each company location The My Account page also displays a section titled My Company Identifiers. 11/7/2018 Partner Portal Administration Self-management of personal and company profile is done via the My Account page. Available to all Users: Update My Personal Profile Available to PPAs: Manage my Company Profile Information Updating a User’s responsibility Adding a new User HP Partner Portal allows users to self-manage profile information directly from the site. Key self-management features are available from the My Account page. All users can update their personal profile PPAs can manage the company profile, update users’ profiles, and add or deactivate Users Reference materials and step by step instructions are available for download from the Partner Portal Orientation section of the Partner Portal Welcome page.
