4 PTO NEWS FAST PASS Drawing: “fast pass” - a student’s monthly perfect attendance will put them into the drawing for a one month “fast pass” – drawn at the end of the month. Veterans’ Day Program- to be discussed at the next PTO meeting Collecting BOXTOPS! Turn in your box tops sheets. Make sure to put your child’s name and your teacher’s name on the sheet. Sheets can be picked up in the front office. At the end of each month, beginning this month (End of Sept) students with PERFECT PERFECT attendance – no tardies, no checkouts. Fast pass means carline drop off and pick up – for one month. They’ll receive a “Fast Pass” for one month. Once earned, names stay in all school year.

5 M&M Orientation: Tues, SEPT 25, 8:00 in the Teachers’ Lounge
Teachers will have a poster next to their door, placed by PTO. On the poster will be sticky notes with requests for items they need in their room. Please take a note and help our teachers out. PTO 1st meeting will be October 4th in the multi-purpose 11:30am & 5:30pm M&M Orientation: Tues, SEPT 25, 8:00 in the Teachers’ Lounge Miracle Members - Tues/Thurs work days – assisting teachers with needs. Must have orientation/inservice to participate

ELA – attain an average scaled-score range of 65% mastery and above (31%) Math – attain an average scaled score of 50% and above (25%) On the LEAP 2025

7 GOALS School-wide AR Goal: 10,000 points
SuccessMaker Goals – Initial Placement – ELA/MATH K – Nov 2, Grades 1-2 –Oct 16, Grades 3-5 – Sept 28 Attendance – 98% for the year. GOALS

8 Bullying is a pattern of:
written, electronic or verbal communications that threaten harm obscene gestures, taunting or malicious teasing persistent shunning or excluding a student physical harm, such as hitting, pushing or damaging personal property

9 It will not be tolerated.
Bullying: It will not be tolerated. If law enforcement is necessary, then we will do so. We do not hesitate to report bullies. Report forms are available online. Students may report bullying directly to us.

10 Student to Student Sexual Harassment
CPSB POLICY: Maintain a learning environment free from prohibited sexual discrimination or sexual harassment. All forms for unlawful discrimination are available at E. K. Key. The full policy is located in the student handbook and in the code of conduct. 10

14 TAKE HOME THURSDAYS All grade levels will send home student work on Thursdays. We try to align notices from the front office to go home on Thursdays. Please initial your child’s Twister daily. If changing your child’s route home, please notify the office by 2:30 and send written notice.

15 CELEBRATIONS Please notify us of ANY celebrations we can announce at school – extra curricular activities, Special awards, recognition – please let us know so we may honor your child!

17 What do Haircuts and AR have in common?
On Oct 20, we have our next “Cuts by Key”. From 9 a.m. -1:00 p.m. you may come and get your child’s hair cut by a licensed beautician. Students may come and take AR tests in our computer labs. HAIRCUTS & AR

18 IMPORTANT INFORMATION
ATTENDANCE Students may only miss 10 days in one year. After 3 unexcused absences, administration is notified and we make contact – through letters, conferences, and phone calls. Please send excuses within 3 days of an absence. If 3 or less consecutive days, a parent note is permitted. More than 3 days, a doctor’s excuse is required. IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Daily Twisters – students should color them daily and your initial/signature is needed daily. “TOR” iffic Fridays – Attendance – Twisters must be colored and signed – Twisters checked on Thursday for perfect attendance – Jeans and SHS shirt (or this year’s KEY SPIRIT SHIRT) may be worn on TORiffic Fridays. Model Monday – Twisters are checked again on Fridays. If all are colored green or above & signed, your child may wear jeans on Monday with appropriate uniform shirt. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
