6 What is the Home Language Survey?

8 Home Language Survey The Home Language Survey is a document filled out by new enrollees to the district. It determines if a language other than English is used at home. If there is indication of a primary language other than English, we assess the student with CELDT California Ed. Code requires schools to determine the languages spoken in the home of all students. This helps us provide adequate instructional programs and services Over the last few months, we’ve revised our survey to make it easier for parents to understand and complete

9 Questions on Home Language Survey
When your child first began to speak, what language did he/she use most frequently? What language does your child use most frequently at home? What language do you speak most frequently to your child? What language is most often spoken by the adults in the home? Did your child attend school in another country? If yes, what is the highest grade your child completed?
