ASH PE Screencast A Level PE
Energy

Energy There are different types of energy! Chemical Potential Kinetic

Chemical Energy Chemical energy is energy stored within the bonds of chemical compounds. This type of energy is found in the molecules of your body.

Potential Energy Potential Energy is ‘stored’ energy in the body that is ready to be used when we need it! Energy stored within ATP is often called potential energy.

Kinetic Energy Kinetic Energy is energy in the form of muscle contraction or joint movement. This is the energy used to move muscles in the body by allowing them to contract.

Where does it all come from?

Energy into Work!

Energy into work Amino acids Triglycerides Glycogen
A large proportion of our cells, muscles and tissue is made up of amino acids Giving cells their structure. They also play a key role in the transport and the storage of nutrients. Amino acids influence on the function of organs, glands, tendons and arteries. Essential for healing wounds and repairing tissue, especially in the muscles, bones, skin and hair as well as for the removal of all kinds of waste deposits produced in connection with the metabolism. Amino acids Triglycerides Glycogen

Triglycerides A Triglyceride stores fat that your body can use for energy. But too many is not a good thing.

Glycogen Glucose is the main source of fuel for our cells. When the body doesn't need to use the glucose for energy, it stores it in the liver and muscles. This stored form of glucose is made up of many connected glucose molecules and is called glycogen.

Adenosine triphosphate
