Working with Figurative Language Explain why the following quote is an extended metaphor: Mercutio: More than Prince of Cats. O, he’s the coura- geous captain of compliments. He fights as you sing pricksong– keeps time, distance, and proportion; he rests his minim rests, one two, and the third in your bosom! (18-22) Explain the hyperbole in this example: Romeo: Here’s goodly gear! A sail, a sail! Mercutio: Two, two! A shirt and a smock.
