2. Genre Assessment
Annotate the posters for Iron Man 3 and 27 Dresses, making notes on:
Representation of men/women (Male Gaze Theory)
Primary & secondary audiences
Genre codes & conventions
For each poster, choose two elements that show the genre, and write a DCSE paragraph for each.

3. Action-Adventure DCSE Paragraph
In the Iron Man 3 poster, Tony Stark is seen front and center in his damaged combat suit. While the suit connotes power and additional abilities, the damage connotes challenges and conflict. The damages to the suit signify the action-adventure genre, as Stark, the hero of the story (according to Propp’s Chatacter Theory), must face against an opposing force that prevents him from achieving his goal. In addition, Stark is a white American man, being made even more evident as he is not wearing his helmet. As a result, the primary audience of action-adventure and comic book fans would be further attracted to see the film, as most super heroes are represented as strong white men.
