A. Athletics and aesthetics: Steroids, pain killers stimulants and other supplements that may be dangerous
B. Scholastic: Stimulants and other drugs that claim to bring “focus”

1. Use drugs to deal with stress or any other life situations
2. Low self-esteem

5. Protective Factors
Family Factors: Strong family bonds, parental awareness of teen’s social activities and peer groups, clear rules that are consistently enforced.
Social Factors: Strong bonds to school and other organizations, associating with peers who are drug free, having supportive and accepting friends.

6. Personal Factors: A commitment to success in academics and extracurricular activates and a personal belief that drug abuse is unacceptable.
