As a as homeowner, business owners, maybe a parent --- where ever you are in your stage of life you need to make informed financial decisions. Doing your “banking business” is far beyond the simple checking and savings accounts--- its’ money market accounts, retirement plans, payroll services, investments, real estate…..each financial decision you make is important to you, your business and your family Our philosophy of doing business is summarized in a book called the Vision & Values of Wells Fargo. Every team member has a copy. In Vision & Values, we challenge ourselves to “be known as an active community leader in economic development and services that promote economic self-sufficiency and education.” We commit to “promote the economic advancement of everyone in our communities…” One of the ways we demonstrate this is by promoting financial education. We believe that financial education holds the key. That’s why we developed Hands on Banking as a free public service that’s completely non-commercial- no product sales or “pitches” This site, and resources are available to everyone in the community

Presenter Notes: This is our new Young Adults page --- bright colors – video animation, etc. This fun, hip format is geared for young people ages 15 to 21, a highly transitional stage of life. Like our Adults topics we focus on six areas for this age group; (Review the topics as they appear on the screen) Again the user can rollover each topic to see basic content This program has a number of interactive activities and self-assessments that make it highly interactive For most young people, it’s an era of financial “firsts”: first car, first bank accounts, first credit card, first job, first time living on their own. These lessons address all of these topics, plus how to afford education after high school, managing students loan, how to read your paycheck, use credit responsibly, and more. For high school classrooms this programs has been aligned with national and state standards in mathematics, language arts, social sciences and economics. So teachers can easily integrate this program into these required courses in the classroom.

Presenter Notes: The TEEN section for 6th to 8th graders is designed to feel like a video game. The animated narrator, Angie, is an outgoing, money savvy teenager who helps students in grades six through eight begin to see themselves as consumers and financial decision makers. These lessons cover the importance of establishing a saving account, setting up a budget, and learning how to determine needs vs. wants when it comes to spending money. Again – special attention has been given to ensuring all of these lessons are aligned with educational standards. Plus we do offer free teacher in-service training upon request.

Presenter Notes: In the KIDS section for 4th and 5th grades, is a friendly space alien named Zing takes students in grades four and five on a free wheeling and informative tour of money management basics. These lessons are fun for the whole family to enjoy. There are fun online exercises provided to learn importance of saving money, wants vs. needs and goal setting. As I mentioned earlier, all of the lessons in KIDS,TEENS and YOUNG ADULTS have been created to align with educational standards in mathematics, language arts, social sciences and economics.
