1 Pre-AP English II September 5, 2017
Bellringer – timed writing (7 minutes) In your journal, write a short persuasive essay answering the following prompt: Who is at fault for William’s death? Is anyone other than the murderer responsible for what happened? Explain your answer using evidence from the text. Remember, this is a persuasive essay!

2 Announcements Beginning this week only tests with grades below 75 may be corrected for additional credit. Tests with higher grades will be considered on an individual basis only if increasing the grade on the tests means the difference between one letter grade and another in the students final average. For example, if you have an 88 on a test, and increasing that 88 to a higher grade will mean your 9 weeks average goes from one letter grade to another, the corrections may be allowed. Daily grades will not be corrected. Also beginning this week definitions which do not include the part of speech and word origin will receive a deduction in points. Definitions which do not include both will only receive 1/2 credit.

3 Canvas Beginning this week, we will be making the switch from Google Classroom to Canvas. This platform allows far more flexibility than Google Classroom does. You will still have access to everything that you need, but it will be much easier to navigate and find what you need. Let’s try to log in now….

4 Group Project – Please don’t try to raise the dead!
Group project choices? Due date question – if I were to give you until September 22 instead of September 15, would that help you, or would it be too much time possibly causing you to forget?
