1 2 Animals Kingdoms

2 Coyote Diet: Omnivore Lifespan: Up to 14-15 years
Coyotes are very good swimmers. Coyotes migrated to Northeast of the United States in the 20th century.

3 Reproductive Category: Sexual
Mated male coyotes attend the females who give birth to the annual litter in an underground den is like there own home. Litter sizes average is 5 to 7 pups in many areas. Breeding happened in February in the Southern States and also in March in the Northern States. Female coyotes will stay underground until her younger open their eye in 11 to 12 days later Male coyotes DO NOT bring food to the female after birthing process. Male coyotes may help the female coyotes feed the kids or help the female raise the kids.

4 Reproductive Strategies
Coyotes are the smallest animal than wolves and are sometime called prairie wolves or brush wolves. Den is often used year after year by the same coyotes until that one moved out, unless the coyotes feel threatened at the den site. Some female coyotes accept mates at 9 or 10 moths to ages. Most coyotes DO NOT pair up with mates until they are months old. Coyotes territories are far largest in the areas where food is sparse Territorial during the bulk of the year..

5 Wolf Diet: Carnivores Lifespan: 6 - 8 years average
They can consume as much as 22 lbs in one sitting found in North America, Europe, and Asia, and as far north as the Canadian Arctic and as far south as India.

6 Reproductive Category: Sexual
The breeding pair was once referred to as a the alpha male and female. Wolves only mate once a year it happened in the early spring. Female wolves have to carry the baby for 63 days Produce litters of about pups Pups unable to see or hear, they will stay inside the de for about 4 weeks after they’re born. After about 10 weeks pup are becoming part of the packs.

7 Reproductive Strategies
Gray wolves are able to live in many biomes, from Arctic tundra to dense forests, to mountains, to dry shrublands. They can reach 38 mph sprinting but will more frequently run long distances at around 5 mph. Their mouths contains 42 teeth including carnassial teeth unique to carnivores for cutting through meat and bone. They can closed their mouth with pressure exceeding 1,000lbs per square inch. At about 5 inches long and 4 inches wide all wolf tracks are larger than coyote tracks, but not all dog tracks. Stages of Development days: the eyes open 3 weeks: the milk teeth appear, they start to explore the den 4 - 5 weeks: short trips outside the den, begin to eat meat 6 weeks: moving up to a mile from the den (with adult wolf) 6 - 8 weeks: pups are weaned, traveling to rendezvous site. 12 weeks: begin to travel with the pack on hunts (with adult wolves) weeks: milk teeth are replaced 7 - 8 months: begin to hunt with the pack

8 Comparison Between Two Organisms
Length (nose to tail): Wolf 5-6 feet, coyote, 3 ½ feet. Height (at shoulder): Wolf inches; coyote, inches. Weight: Wolf, pounds; coyo, pounds. Head: wolf’s snout is blocky and the coyote’s snout is pointed. Eats: Wolves have rounded ears and Coyote’s ears are pointed. Color: some wolves are all black, but the majority of wolves have a mix of ta, brown and black. Coyotes have similar colored but they usually lighter color.
