1. Career Cruising: School Selector
Have out your laptop
This PowerPoint will instruct you to complete School Selector which is one of your career cruising activities for your 11th grade year. This activity is designed to help you narrow down the school list. Completing this activity is necessary for the completion of your High School and Beyond Plan, a graduation requirement. Please carefully complete the directions that follow. You will need your laptop to complete this activity.

2. To Log in to Career Cruising:
Open a FireFox browser window:
Go to PowerSchool Learning and in the top right corner click ‘Apps’
Select ‘Career Cruising’ off the list and it should open
You must use a FireFox browser to complete the activity. Open a Firefox browser and log in to PowerSchool Learning. In the upper right hand corner in a dropdown menu labeled ‘Apps’. From that menu select Career Cruising to enter the online system.

3. Click on ‘My Plan’ under your name
When you open your Career cruising, click on “My Plan” which is located directly below your name on the left hand side.

4. Click on ‘Education’
Click on ‘Education’ in the top menu.

5. Click ‘School Selector’
Once you click ‘School Selector’ pick the type of school you would like to research at this point.
Choose ‘School Selector’ from the menu provided and then choose the type of schools you would like to research at this point.

6. School Selector
As you complete each section, click on the name of the next section on the left hand side of the page. You should complete all of the sections except Athletics and Majors Offered which can be left blank.
Once you get through all of the sections, click ‘View Results’ and your list of compatible schools will appear. The more specific you are about your results, the more narrow your list of schools will be.

7. Your Results
Once you have completed the School Selector, click the ‘Save to My Plan’ button.
When you get your results, click the blue ‘Save to My Plan’ button in the right hand corner.

8. Click on ‘My Plan’
Once you have completed the school selector activity, you must reflect and confirm. These steps check off the activity on your High School and Beyond Plan. Click on the My Plan button below your name in the top left hand corner.

9. Click on ‘My Progress’
Click the My progress bar on the right side.

10. Click ‘School Selector’

11. Check the ‘Reflect and Confirm’ box
Click the check mark under where it says “reflect and confirm”.

12. Check your ‘My Progress’ Bar
Your progress should increase by about 16%.
**The percentage will vary based on how much you have completed and what grade you are in.
