4 Log-in How to log in: Go to https://www.masteryconnect.com
Click Log In, in the upper right hand corner Please Note: You will continue to stay logged in until you click: “Log Out” Log out to protect your data. Forgot password: At the log In page, click forgot password aiken county public school district

5 Navigation To get back to the home page at any time click on the logo.

6 Newsfeed This is like your Facebook home page. It shows the activities of the people that you are following. It shows if they created an assessment or pinned an activity. It also allows you to post directly. Remember this is a professional newsfeed…Keep it professional.

7 Newsfeed On the right, you can access your trackers, assessments, Online PD, invite teachers to join Mastery Connect, and featured teachers. On the left under the picture, you can click on edit profile and you will be able to edit you profile along with changing your password, notifications, and privacy settings.

8 Inbox This shows any messages that have been sent to you.
To send a message: Click on the Community tab on the green bar Search for the person that you would like to Click on the person’s name When their page pops up, click on the green send message button under their picture Type your message and click the orange send message button

9 Help From the green menu bar at the top, click on the magnifying glass in the circle. From the drop down menu, select the Help Center, Online PD, or Terry Hallman’s contact information. Please Note: This help center provides topics to select from: getting started, assessments, curriculum maps, trackers, reports, and troubleshooting. You are also able to search by typing in the search bar at the top.

10 Curriculum Map Standards organized by the district’s pacing guide for a specific subject. It will allow you to organize the standards and create the same tracker for multiple classes. It will also allow you to view pins and assessments by standards. The district curriculum maps are in the shared with me tab on the bottom of the list located on the left side.

11 Trackers- How to set up from a Curriculum Map
Click on the Tracker button on the green menu Click Curriculum Maps on the grey bar Click on “Shared with me” (Aiken Co. has already created Curriculum maps for us for any grade/subject with an ACPSD Curriculum guide.) Click create tracker from map near the correct curriculum map for which you want to create a tracker. Write a description, select a folder color, and add students by selecting “Import from SIS” (it will import class list from PowerSchool), then select the class from the drop down menu, and then click create tracker.

12 Students This is where you can see student information and assessments
You can access the student information, change student passwords, add student , add parent , and change student demographic information. You can also print usernames/passwords from this screen. Whole class: Click on the orange hamburger and then select print usernames/passwords Individual student: Click print username/password under the student’s name.

13 Pins- All This allows you to see all current pins.
You can narrow the pins by selecting a subject from the drop down menu. You can also drag the pin resource to your web browser’s favorite bar. This will allow you to pin resources directly from the internet.

14 Pins- Following This allows you to only view pins from teachers you are currently following. You can also narrow the pins by subject from the drop down menu. If you see a pin that you like, you can repin, like, or comment on the pin by hovering over it and clicking your desired action.

15 Pins- My Pins View all of your pins.
You can also narrow the pins by subject, grade, and standard from the drop down menu.

16 Pins- My Boards View your boards.
You can organize the boards by subject or by topic. To add a board, click on the orange add board button in the top right corner, fill in the requested information. If you are going to pin a lot a resources, you can set up a board for each unit that you teach.

17 Pins- My Likes This screen shows all of the resources that you have liked. You may choose a specific subject to view from the subject drop down menu on the upper left hand side of the screen.

18 How to Pin within Mastery Connect
Hover over the pin with your mouse. 3 orange banners will pop up giving you the option to: Repin: Allows you to add this pin to your resource board. Click repin, choose the resource board you want to add the pin to, click Pin It Like: Allows you to like the pin Click the orange banner that says Like Comment: Allows you to comment on a pin Click the orange banner that says Comment. Scroll to the bottom of the pin, add your comment, and click post

19 How to pin while searching the Internet
Click on the pins menu from the green bar Drag the orange pin resource button to the bookmark bar for your internet browser. A box with “Pin Resource” will be placed in the bookmark bar. When you find a great resource while searching the web, click the pin resource button on the book mark bar Click on the orange pin it button that popped up Fill in the description and then click pin it

To show the bookmark menu for Firefox: Click on the clipboard icon in the top right (to the left of the star) Select the bookmark toolbar from the list Check “view bookmark toolbar

21 Community- Searching for Users
From the green menu, click Community You can search by name, grade level, subject, role, or state How to follow people: Click the Follow tab under their name Who should you follow: This is not Facebook. Follow other teachers that you will benefit the most from: grade level teachers, teachers from your district, teachers from your school, and curriculum specialists.

22 Assessments- All This is where you can search from all of the assessments that have been created. Select the subject, core (standard), class (grade), standard (individual standards) You can also search for an assessment by keywords The most used and peer reviewed assessments tend to be better. Once you find an assessment that you like you can add to tracker, bookmark it or clone it.

These are the assessments that you are using in a tracker Created These are assessments that you created and uploaded Bookmarked These are your bookmarked assessments Updates These are the assessments that have been updated

24 Assessments- How to add an assessment that you created
Click on the assessment tab on the green bar Click on the orange add assessment button Fill in the appropriate information Click the orange create assessment button If you are uploading copyrighted information, make sure that you mark it as private. This will only allow you to see or use the assessment.

25 Assessments- How to create an assessment using the item bank
Follow the first three steps from the previous slide, select Certica Item Bank from the assessment source. Make sure that multi-standard is selected from the standard section if you will have more than one standard. Select the standard and the number of questions that you want. You can review any of the questions by clicking on the green numbers. You can drag and drop the question to the right column DOK= Depth of knowledge Scoring: each standard will have its own level of mastery and a level of near mastery.
