2 In pairs, talk about a time when you helped someone.
It could be: • Have you helped someone when they’re sick or injured? • Have you helped someone with something difficult? • Have you helped to cheer someone up when they’re down? Talk about: What you did to help? How the other person reacted? How did helping them make them feel?

3 Watch the film about Elodie
Watch the film about Elodie. When Elodie was born her eyes were under-developed and, at a few months old, her retinas detached. Now aged seven, Elodie is facing the challenge of losing her sight. Talk About • Who helps Elodie? • What difference does it make to Elodie’s life?

4

5 Talk About Who are some of the people in the community who we might go to for help? What kind of help might they be able to give us? For example, if you got lost in a shop and couldn’t find your mum or dad, who would you go to for help?

6 Read through the activity sheet: Finding Help
Draw or write an example of a time we might need help. Now think of all the ways that we can help someone. Try to think of both small ways and big ways that you might be able to help.

7 Watch the video ‘Big Spotacular Introduction’
What did the children in the video do to fundraise?

8 It’s your chance to come up with some fun-tastic ideas to make our school’s fundraising a huge success! Here are some tips to get you started: Start by brainstorming lots of ideas – be bold and creative! Think about how you can use your school’s facilities, e.g. could you give a big wall or window a spotty make-over? Then consider which ideas you could do the best, and the ones that you think would raise most money. For more fundraising ideas visit the website:

9 1. Decide one thing that you want to do, which will have a positive impact on each other, the school or the community. 2. Write or draw what you’re going to do on a Pudsey spot. 3. Give your spot to your teacher to display on the wall.
