8. Tetanus Toxoid Injections
27 percent of births were protected against neonatal tetanus. Their mothers:
Received two or more TT injections during last pregnancy (6%), or
Received one TT injection, plus one additional injection in the 10 years prior to the pregnancy, or
Received at least five lifetime TT injections
Women should receive at least 2 tetanus toxoid injections during pregnancy, unless she received them in a previous pregnancy, in which case one is enough.
