4. Notable Progress Three subcommittees have been formed:
Notification and Messaging (EM MSG)
Infrastructure Framework (EM IF)
Geospatial Information System (EM GIS)
EM MSG Subcommittee has leveraged CAP (Common Alerting Protocol), which is at version 0.7 schema draft.
Successful CAP workshop at annual PPW (Partnership for Public Warning) Conference.

5. Next Steps Draft “written” part of CAP standard.
Begin designing CAP reference implementations.
Initiate design of CAP compliance and scenario tools to assist implementors.
Start working on CAP implementer's guide as reference implementations are being built
EM IF to finalize Requirements document.
