Senate Bill 1867 During the 84th legislative session (2015) SB was passed. SB 1867: Modifies current law so that students who continue to enroll in high school after expected graduation are excluded from longitudinal rates calculated for state accountability if they meet certain criteria.

Exclusion Criteria: Student must:
Be at least 18 years of age by September 1st Have satisfied credit requirements for high school graduation Not have completed their IEP Be enrolled and receiving IEP services

Changes for the 2016-2017 School Year
IEP-CONTINUER-INDICATOR-CODE description: Per Texas Education Code TEC (g-2), indicates whether a student a) is at least 18 years of age as of September 1 of the school year as reported for the Fall semester PEIMS submission of the current year and has satisfied the credit requirements for high school graduation, b) has not completed his or her individualized education program under 19 TAC Section (b)(2) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (20 U.S.C. Section 1400 et seq.), and c) is enrolled and receiving individualized education program services.
