PSTN routing service acquired from Office 365 partner Tenant is created and users are added into the Office 365 environment Arrangements are made with carrier for DIDs or to port DIDs, work numbers defined Lync Online Provisioning will automatically:: Set each user’s SIP “-line” attribute to a value based on the work number field Create hosted Exchange UM integration & ExUM enables each user Assigns the user to the country-specific dial plan Tenant Admin must: Configure Exchange UM & define auto attendant and subscriber access numbers Assign the appropriate carrier to the tenant or to each use.

A trunk is the tuple: Mediation Server FQDN & SIP Listening Port, SIP Peer FQDN & Listening Port When Outbound Routing matches a PSTN number to a route, route consists of a list of trunks Contrast this to Lync 2010, where a route consisted of a list of GWs. Significant benefits for inter-networking Resiliency – multiple egress points to the same SIP Peers formally supported Internetworking for Bypass – Bypass can happen for all calls in a branch without high overhead Multiple Sites connecting to the same Service Provider using TLS/SRTP

Define multiple trunks between Mediation and the SIP Peer representing SIP termination Trunk configuration scoped globally or per trunk. Each trunk will be associated with the appropriate route for outbound calls Dial plan can be scoped per trunk. For inbound calls, per trunk policy will be applied. Representative Media IP is a per-trunk parameter.
