8 Wi-Fi Hotspot All vehicle gateways can be configured to provide complimentary Wi-Fi to your Drivers. This can only be set from the Samsara Driver Dashboard by an Administrator from Settings  General Select “Enabled” under Wifi Hotspot (for vehicle gateways and then provide an SSID and passphrase Tip!: Pick and SSID ID and passphrase that will be easy for your drivers to remember Passphrases must be 8 to 63 characters Data limit of 500MB per month. (Data is throttled after 500MB)

11 Setting Fleet ID Your Fleet ID is set up automatically but can be changed from the dashboard. Tip!: Pick something short and memorable for your drivers

12 Settings – Configure DOT Information
The Carrier Name, Main Office Address and Carrier US DOT Number you select here are what appear on your Drivers’ logs during an inspection. If you have more than one DOT # you can further configure by driver under Settings  Drivers Your fleets governing ruleset is also configurable from this page.

14 Setting Up Drivers Drivers are also added to the system from Settings  Drivers They can be added individually or utilizing the Bulk Operation Tip!: The easiest way to use Bulk is to export your current list so you can see all of the fields available and then upload the updated list

15 Setting Up Drivers (mandate requirements)
Drivers can be saved as long as they have a Name Username and Password. However the following fields are required: Name License Number License State Username (min 4 characters) Password

Personal Conveyance Yard Move DOT Overrides Allows for you to give a driver DOT information separate from the upper org

18 Adding Users Add new users by selecting “Add an organization administrator” Roles Full Admin: Full access and edits to all pages on the dashboard Read-only Admin: Full access to view all pages on the dashboard Maintenance: Access to Fleet Overview and Maintenance tab Tip!: Tagged Admins do not have access to Settings and Support

22 Logging In All Driver accounts must be set up by and Administrator with Access to the Samsara Dashboard To log in a driver is required to enter a Fleet ID, Username and Password Your organizations Fleet ID is setup automatically but can be changed to any available ID from the Dashboard under Settings  General. Driver Usernames and Passwords can be set from Settings  Drivers Usernames must be at least 4 characters Tip!: Keep your passwords short and easy for your drivers to remember. Passwords can only be update from the dashboard by an Administrator Tip!: The first time a Driver App is accessed the user will be required to log in TWICE. The app is acquiring the most recent version of it’s firmware and will require second sign-in after initially “kicking” the user bauer’s ABCTrucking bsmith Rob-Adams *********

23 Vehicle Selection Reminder: When you log into a vehicle for the first time it will make you log in twice! Every time you log in as a driver you will be told about previous, uncertified logs Tip!: Review and Certify will let you review all logs at once Tip!: Drivers can see all the vehicles in your organization, use the “Search for vehicles” to find the vehicle you want

24 Changing Vehicle Selection
As drivers are learning the system they will like pick the wrong vehicle from time to time. Click “Vehicle” to change to select a vehicle at anytime. No need to “Sign Out” and then back in.

25 Team Driver

26 Team Driver Workflow Samsara Driver App’s “Team Driver” allows multiple Drivers to manage their Hours of Service from one vehicle. Process Flow Driver 1 logs into the Samsara Driver App Driver 1 selects Team Driver Driver 2 logs in from the “Add User to Driving Team” View app on driver’s account Set as vehicle driver Signing out of the app will remove both drivers from the app and place them “Off Duty”

Driver 1 is listed as the USER Driver 1 selects Team Driver 2 1 3

28 Second Driver Signs In Driver 2 selects “Add User to Driving Team”
…and logs into the same mobile device Additional drivers can log in after Driver 2. 2 1

29 Changing Driver Assignment
Two drivers are now signed into the same vehicle Driver 2 selects “Set as vehicle driver” and they become the primary driver for the vehicle After this selection you can see that Driver 2 is the “Current vehicle driver”. All engine runtime will be assigned to the “Current vehicle driver’s” logs 1 2

30 Viewing Driver 2’s Account
Driver 2 selects “View App on driver’s account” and both drivers can now manage their account from the Samsara Driver App The USER is now shown to be Driver 2 Setting the current driver and changing which account is being viewed can be changed at any time throughout their trip 1 2

31 Signing Out When Driver 1 or Driver 2 signs out the entire team is signed out Sign out puts both drivers “Off Duty”

Click HoS to manage your logs Change Duty Status manually Understanding Hours Remaining Break = Counts down the time until a break must be taken Shift = Counts down total available shift time Cycle = Counts down total available cycle time. Everything a driver needs for an inspection is behind the “DOT Inspection” button View past logs Red Pencil = Uncertified Green Check = Certified 2 1 3 4 5

34 Automatic Driving Status
The mandate requires that when a vehicle goes above 5 mph the driver be automatically put into driving Tip! This means it is especially important that drivers are assigned to the correct vehicle and sign out before another driver moves that vehicle When the vehicle stops drivers will be asked if if they are “Still DRIVING”. If they ignore this they are automatically put “ON DUTY”

35 Alerts When any one of the hours remaining circles gets within 30 minutes of zero it will turn yellow and alert the Driver When zero is reached the ring will turn red Alert Examples:

36 Driver Edit of Logs Drivers can edit any uncertified logs.
Drive time can be changed to Yard Move or Personal Conveyance for a driver (if enabled) but never erased Drivers can edit all other duty statuses ON DUTY (0:00) Tap the Log icon Tap the log graph to edit it Tip! All Driver edits require a remark before saving!

37 Certifying Driver Logs
Drivers should certify all past 24-hour periods Certifying logs puts a signature below the log in the Log and DOT Inspection page Tap the Log icon Certify and Submit Agree - Submit

38 Approval of Carrier Edits
All Carrier edits must be approved by the driver Drivers will be prompted to approve carrier edits Tip!: Managers and Supervisors should agree on an edit before it is posted for a Driver to Review. Managers are not alerted when a Driver Approves or Rejects a proposed edit.

39 Inspection Requirments
Samsara Docs Manual Inspection Card Drivers share their logs from the DOT Inspection Button Tip!: There are two options for sending your date file. or Wireless Web Services

40 Sign Out You will be asked to review uncertified logs and carrier edits upon Sign Out Sign out when you end your shift ! Remember to sign out. Otherwise future miles may be incorrectly assigned to you.

43 Driver HoS (Summary) All the same cycle times presented to the Driver are presented to the manager Tip!: All the standard duty statuses are present including “Disconnected” which tells you that the app is either closed or the mobile device is out of service.

46 HoS Violations Search and report on violations for all drivers from HOS Violations Tip!: This report can be scheduled daily and/or weekly

47 Unassigned Hours Unassigned hours are created when a vehicle is moved without a driver assigned. Unassigned hours must be assigned so that no more than 60 minutes exist on a vehicle over a 24 hour period.
