1 It’s Time to choose classes for 7th grade

2 Our Course selection timeline
Starting February 12th, all resource and spectrum classes will visit with me (Ms. Kole) in the computer lab to pick your electives for 7th grade. Before you meet with me, you need to explore the electives and know which ones you plan to take. Your teacher recommendations for Math, Science, English and Social Studies were loaded into your StudentVue in the Course Requests tab. We are now using all Honors codes for all core classes except Math. Math 6 goes to Math 7. Accelerated Math 6/7 goes to Algebra 1. Math 6/7 may also go to Math 8, if recommended.

3 How does this affect me? You will not be able to make changes to core courses. For electives, you must decide what you want to take in 7th grade BEFORE you meet with me! Today you are going to learn what your choices are.

4 Required 7th grade courses:
All 7th Graders will take: Math, Life Science, U.S. History, English, H/PE and FACS/Tech Ed, which are each a semester class. All 7th Graders will have a 45 minute Resource/Spectrum class paired with a Music or Art Elective. All 7th Graders will also have the choice between Communications or a World Language.

5 Should I take a world language in 7th grade?
Remember-If you take a World Language class, it is a high school credit course and will factor into your Grade Point Average in high school. If you take this class, be prepared to work hard and take it seriously. Who should take this class? Students who are hard working, have great study habits, are well organized and desire to advance in high school in a World Language.
