NEOGOV Online Application Procedures FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY. Do NOT project or distribute to candidates. Please note that this presentation is intended for the use of the Application Sites’ use only! It is not intended for candidate presentation or distribution as it contains CONFIDENTIAL information.

Step 1: Access the Online Application
Go to targeted-local-hire-program Click on the following link to access the online application Note: The TLH Online Application may also be accessed through the inside TLH website at password: twopencils RECOMMENDATION: It is STRONLY RECOMMENDED that the link is up at all computers that will be used to submit applications rather than having each candidate type the link in. This will save candidates and staff time!

Step 2: Begin the Online Application
Click on the Green Apply Button

Step 3-Create an Account
First-time applicants will need to create an account. The following information will be required to create an account: A valid address addresses are available for free with a variety of different providers such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc. 2. A username Username must be unique and cannot contain spaces or special characters (note: underscores are okay) 3. A password Password must be at least 8 characters in length and contain upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols. A valid address is required for all communications. Please remind applicants to regularly monitor their address to ensure that all communication is received!

Step 4: Enter General & Personal Information
The following information is required for each section: 1. General Information Name & Address are required. 2. Social Security Number and the legal right to work are required under the personal information section.

REMINDER!!! Remind candidates that ALL questions with a red asterisk are required. If a candidate leaves a required question blank or does NOT save a change, NEOGOV will NOT allow them to continue. Solution: Click on “Stay on this Page”, answer the question, if a change was made then click “Save”. Click on “Proceed to Review”.

Step 5: Agency Questions
Answer “Agency Questions” Reminders Candidate may use their original copy of the “Agency Referral Form” to answer questions #1-5 Candidate may enter their work- related preferences on questions #6- 9 Questions #10 – 12 are OPTIONAL

Question #13 is REQUIRED Candidate must read and acknowledge that they understand ALL certification Statements Candidate has question(s)? Provide an answer if it’s available in the TLH Overview or TLH Orientation Refer them to TLH FAQs Candidate still has question(s)? Refer them to TLH Program staff by or phone. Inform candidate: Their application will be saved Will need to wait for TLH Program Staff to respond (~1 Business Day) Enter candidate’s name on “Approved List of Candidates” Mark Y for TLH Orientation Leave Referral Code Blank Question #13 is REQUIRED; therefore, candidates CANNOT submit an online application unless they read and acknowledge that they understand ALL certification statements. What happens if a candidate has questions about any of the certifications statements? Please answer their question if it’s available in either the TLH Overview or TLH Orientation Provide the candidate with a copy of the FAQs If the candidate STILL has questions or is unclear about the certification statements, please take the following steps: Refer candidate to TLH Program staff either by at or by phone at (###) ###-####. Inform candidate that they cannot submit their online application until they have completely understood all certification statements; therefore, they will need to wait for TLH Program Staff to respond, which will take approximately 1 business day. Enter the candidate’s first name & last name on the Approved List of Candidates Mark Y under the TLH Orientation Leave Referral Code Blank TLH Program Staff will send Application Sites a roster of candidates’ names who may return to the Application Sites to simply obtain a referral code and submit the application. Note: These candidates will have already completed the TLH Orientation but did not submit the online application because they had questions about the certification statements.

Step 6: “Supplemental Questions” = Valid Referral Code!
Application Site Staff must provide the candidate with a valid referral code by answering questions #1-9 Write the valid Referral Code on the Candidate Self ID Form Instruct Candidates to answer questions #1-9 by using the unique Referral Code written on their Candidate ID Form Reminder Applications WITHOUT a VALID REFERRAL CODE will be REJECTED! Use the Referral Code Sheet and the Candidate Self ID Form to assign the most applicable code for each candidate Questions? See the “Intake Procedures for Application Sites”

Step 6 (cont.): Supplemental Questions No. 2 and 3
Supplemental Questions No. 2 asks for the ID Code for Targeted Population. Critical in determining if candidate is part of Tier 1 or Tier 2!!! Code “T00” should ONLY be selected if the candidate does NOT identify with any of the targeted populations or does NOT wish to disclose! Supplemental Question No. 3 asks candidates to confirm if they have selected “T00” in question 2. Yes = Tier 2 No= Tier 1 Reminder The Referral Codes are CONFIDENTIAL! Do NOT share the referral codes or how they will be used with anybody!

Step 7: REVIEW Step 8: Certify & Submit
Step 7: Allow candidate to review entire application before submitting Step 8: Remind Candidates that language related to “Testing” and “Examining” does not apply to TLH!

Step 9: Application Submitted
Remind candidate that language related to “examination(s)” is NOT applicable to the Targeted Local Hire Program! Candidate has Questions? Refer candidate to Questions about Neogov?
