4 Packing Pack light: We will be responsible for loading our own luggage on and off the bus and into hotels. You are responsible for any luggage handling fees charged by the airlines. See the fees at eftours.com/baggage Carry any valuables or medications in your EF backpack or carry-on. Pack a change of clothes in your carry-on in case your luggage is lost. A full packing list can be found in the Tour Handbook or at eftours.com/packinglist Check tour website to see if there is a night train. If not, delete red.

6 Flights SEAT ASSIGNMENTS In-flight meal requests Baggage allowance
Seats will be assigned at check-in. Contact the airlines at least 72 hours prior to departure. Baggage allowance Free= 1 checked bag up to 50 lbs 1 carryon (backpack) 1 personal item (purse, etc.) See for more information.

7 Arrival We’ll meet our Tour Director once we have cleared customs and claimed our baggage. Staying awake throughout our arrival day is the best way to beat jet lag. I will post on the Facebook page as soon as we land (as soon as we have WiFi/ service).

8 Tour Director Our dedicated Tour Director will be with us throughout tour to handle logistics and provide suggestions for activities. All Tour Directors are trained to handle any emergencies that could arise on tour. They have 24-hour access to local EF offices, as well as EF’s worldwide and North American headquarters.

9 Meals Breakfast typically includes cereal, bread, juice, coffee and tea. Lunches will be on our own. Dinners will be a mix of local cuisine and familiar dishes served as a preset meal for our group, rather than chosen from a menu. Food portions are sometimes smaller than they are in the U.S. Table water is included; other beverages will be of additional costs. Bottled water is included in countries where it is deemed necessary. Please inform us of any allergies. check

10 Hotels Generally, hotel rooms are smaller than in the U.S.
Most hotels will not have air conditioning or elevators. Wi-Fi will not always be available, and when it is there may be a fee. Late check-ins may be necessary.

11 Rooming Students are roomed 2-4 per room in a combination of twin and shared double beds. Adults will share twin rooms with other adults.

Your plan covers: Illness and accident Baggage and property Tour cancellation and interruption Flight delay 24-hour access to an English-speaking representative If GTP is included in tour price (Trip Builder), delete right column. If it is not included, keep and change to black.

13 Spending money ATMs are the best way to get money
Don’t bring traveler’s checks Notify your bank or credit card company that you’ll be abroad (MUST HAVE CHIP) Bring at least the equivalent of $50 – 60 in Euros (you can exchange $$ at your bank) A Plus Exchange in Santa Monica has good rates—shop around! Currently, 1 Euro = approximately 80 cents

14 Passports & visas All travelers are responsible for securing necessary documentation Carry a copy of your passport with you and also leave a copy at home. Valid passports are required for all travelers. Name and gender listed on your EF account must exactly match passport information. Passports must be valid for 6 months after tour. Non-U.S. citizens may require special visas or other travel documents. ALL TRAVELERS MUST IMPUT THEIR PASSPORT NUMBER IN THE EF WEBSITE.

15 Tipping Total: $80 per traveler
Tour director Local guides Bus driver $2 per local guide per participant $2 per guide x 6 guides = $12 per person $6 per day per participant $6 per day x 9 days of tour = $54 per person $2 per day per participant $2 per day x 7 days of tour = $14 per person Tour Director: 7 days * $6/day= $42/traveler (add $6 for extension) Bus Driver: 5 days * $3/day= $15/traveler Guided activities: 7 * $2/activity**= $14/traveler Total recommended per traveler= $71 /traveler ($77 for extension) *Suggested tipping does not include any optional excursions. 16 Cell Phones If you wish to have your traveler use his or her cell phone abroad, it is your responsibility to make arrangements ahead of time. It can become very expensive to use phones outside of the country if you don’t have a plan set up. FOR EXAMPLE: AT&T International Day Pass $10 /day Take your talk, text, and data plan to over 100 countries for a low daily fee. Pay the daily fee only for the days you use abroad. Get unlimited calls within International Day Pass countries and back to the U.S. and unlimited texts to the world at no additional charge. Just a heads-up. If you have apps running in the background that use data, you'll be charged the daily fee. All you need to get started is a Mobile Share plan or an AT&T Unlimited plan. Tour Director: 7 days * $6/day= $42/traveler (add $6 for extension) Bus Driver: 5 days * $3/day= $15/traveler Guided activities: 7 * $2/activity**= $14/traveler Total recommended per traveler= $71 /traveler ($77 for extension) *Suggested tipping does not include any optional excursions.

17 Trip Shirts $12 for short sleeved, $15 for long sleeved, and $22 for hoodies. Place order for shirts by 03/01 **need website**

18 Emergency Contacts EF will use the emergency contact list if they need to communicate any information while we’re on tour. Emergency contacts cannot be traveling with this group and must be available for the duration of the tour. Confirm your emergency contacts at least 30 days prior to departure. Make sure your information is correct and up to date. All changes can be made on your personalized website.

You should have received this 30 days after enrollment. Log in to watch destination videos, review your itinerary and find hotel and flight information as it becomes available. Safety handbook Look for it in the mail about 50 days prior to departure.

Ef backpack Great to use as a carry-on bag or for use during the day. EMERGENCY CALLING CARD Emergency phone number wristband Your go-to for information about how to reach the local equivalent of 911 while abroad. For all travelers to wear on tour; includes EF’s emergency phone number. (Only dial this number in the event of an emergency.
