Check to make sure that awards that have ended prior to new award start date are not listed. Remember to add up active commitments so total does not exceed 100% including new award. List new award as active. Remember to split OHSU effort and VA effort on separate lines.

No Cost Extensions Deb Golden-Eppelein, Director, RGC

14 No Cost Extensions Processing of No Cost Extensions (NCX) will be transitioning from SPA to RGC, effective April 1. The NCX Request form is being revised to delete the need for signatures and will be sent to RGC via a central mailbox, For those extensions that require sponsor’s prior approval, a letter signed by the PI in PDF will need to be attached to the .

17 Stimulus For applications under Program Announcements (PA’s) and Requests for Application (RFA’s) for stimulus funds, make certain the most current Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is downloaded. Challenge Grants need to be prepared and submitted using Adobe SF424 form packets. First available submission date is March 27.

18 Stimulus All stimulus funds application requests need to be submitted through RGC, the only office authorized to apply for and accept federal funding. Refer to the internal deadlines in the Service Level Understanding (SLU) for review and submission of proposals at

19 Stimulus RGC’s response to stimulus:
Furlough days for this fiscal year are canceled. Funding for an addition 18-month term Grants & Contracts Administrator (GCA) position have been allocated. Funding for small amount of Full Time Employee (FTE) have been allocated to assist with stringent American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) reporting requirements.

ARRA priorities: Funding R01’s that were well-scored but below payline in last couple of rounds Two-year projects; no Executive Leadership Team (ELT) approval needed Facilities & Construction – C06’s and G20’s Decided at ELT level – limited submissions Challenge Grants

21 Stimulus Challenge Grants
Highly competitive – 200 overall expected to be awarded New 12-page format – read application carefully! (no detailed methods, but timeline highly emphasized) Timeline shows you are aware of reporting requirements. Should be quarterly. Will help make the case to Congress for more NIH $. No ELT approval needed
