Combines many common Web 2.0 tools, such as wikis, blogs, and messaging forums.
Allows staff to collaborate with fellow staff, parents, or the greater community. Connect serves as another tool for teachers to reach and interact with students.
A single source for multi-way communications across the District.

What is a “social network”?
The early web served as a gigantic reference. Although there are some instances where people had identities and interacted with one-another (primarily in forums), there was no large-scale concept of individuals interacting with one-another.

In a social network, people have identities on the web. As before, they can share information, but the process of sharing information between people creates communities and relationships (friendships).
