1 RES Technology Upgrade Project
TEGL 14-08 In January 2009, the “ReEmployment Works!” Summit was held in Baltimore Maryland. In March 2009, DOL published TEGL In April 2009, DWS approved the RES Technology Upgrade Project. Project Design Phase: April 2009 – September 2009 Programming Phase: October 2009 – September 2010. Project Implementation: October 2010 Project Cost: $440,000 The project was fully covered by Wagner-Peyser ARRA funds.

2 Project Outcomes RES Technology Upgrade Project
UI and ES information systems have been integrated. Claimants don’t have to log-in separately to each system. More information is transferred real-time between the UI and ES information systems: Base Period Employment History Address Information Social Security Number Auto-coded ONET Veteran Status Claimant Orientation & Assessment responses Redundant data collection has been eliminated.

3 Project Outcomes RES Technology Upgrade Project The ES system recognizes UI claimants and requires them to provide education and work history information. Consequently, claimant resumes are more complete when viewed by employers in Utah’s job matching system. Web filing claimants are given links to job openings after initial or weekly claims.

4 Auto Coder software is implemented.
Project Outcomes RES Technology Upgrade Project Auto Coder software is implemented. ONET codes are automatically assigned to claimant work histories: At claim filing At work registration ONET codes are automatically assigned to employer job orders. DWS systems use Auto Coder ONET codes to provide claimants with real-time relevant LMI.

5 Project Outcomes RES Technology Upgrade Project At the end of their online claims, claimants are automatically routed to a personalized “My UI Account” page. The My UI Account page provides claimants with dynamic links, tailored to their individual needs, including: Additional UI Information Re-employment Information LMI Information Information About Other DWS Services

6 See tasks they need to complete on the “My to do List”
UI claimants can: See tasks they need to complete on the “My to do List” Check claim status, balance, and begin and end dates of claim Transition to work registration and job search activities without having to log-in again Review personally relevant LMI data, as well as other LMI that will help them become re- employed. 6

7 Project Outcomes RES Technology Upgrade Project Claimants are categorized into groups having similar re-employment needs. Categorization is based on DOL suggestions made in TEGL The categorization model uses the profiling model to determine an exhaustion probability score UI systems transfer categorization information to ES systems. ES systems use categorization information as a guide in providing re-employment services to claimants.
