It was initiated, as a recreation for British troops stationed in India. Royal Scots Fusiliers won the first edition of the cup by beating Highland Light Infantry 2–1 in the Final. Women and football in Saudi arabia
Women's football in Saudi Arabia is mostly played indoors by the affluent . This is mainly due to the heavy legal restrictions by the government . In 2012 the government allowed women to attend games in segregated parts of the stadium. The Saudi Arabia women's national football team would be the national team representing the kingdom in international football. However, the team does not yet exist because of influence of religious leaders in Saudi Arabia and systematic discrimination against women's sport, active opposition of political leaders and sport administrators. International pressure has come to bear on the country to field a women's team, and FIFA now allows the hijab to be worn in competition. A meeting at the College of Business Administration in Jeddah was seen as a possible first step in a team eventually being created. Despite a lack of official support for a national team and women's football in general, women have self-organised their own teams and play games out of the sight of men. Created in 2006, King's United women football club was the first women's football club in the country. No official data is kept regarding participation rates for women football players.

Women and football in India
Women's football in India is growing in popularity in spite of the apathetic attitude of the All India Football Federation, and the governing body's inability to pump in the necessary funds into the game. The India women's national football team is controlled by the All India Football Federation and represents India in women's international football competitions. The women's team resumed playing on 7 September 2012 after nearly a year-long hiatus. On 17 December 2014, General Secretary of the All India Football Federation, Kushal Das, gave a presentation on the future of women's football in India during a meeting with FIFA.During his presentation, Das stated that the goal for women's football from 2014 to 2017 was to increase the ranking of the India senior team to the top 40s and the top 8 in Asia, start a professional women's league by 2015, and to qualify for both the U19 and U16 versions of the AFC championships.

National football team of India
The India national football team is governed by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). Since 1948, the AIFF has been affiliated to FIFA, the international governing body for football. In 1954, the AIFF became one of the founding members of the Asian Football Confederation(AFC). The team was automatically invited by FIFA to play in the 1950 FIFA World Cup (all the other Asian teams withdrew), but they could not go to the tournament in Brazil due to financial constraints. They won two gold medals at the Asian Games and one silver at the Asian Cup.

National football team of Saudi Arabia
The Saudi Arabia national football team (Arabic: المنتخب السعودي لكرة القدم) represents Saudi Arabia in association football. It is known by its fans as Al-Suqour (The Falcons), Al-Khodor (The Green). Considered one of Asia's most successful national teams, Saudi Arabia has won the Asian Cup three times (1984, 1988, and 1996) and qualified for the World Cup four consecutive times ever since debuting at the 1994tournament. In the 1994 World Cup, Saudi Arabia upset seeded Belgium and beat Morocco in the group stage before falling to Sweden in the Round of 16. Saudi Arabia was dismissed in the first round of the next three Cup tournaments. The Saudi Arabian football team was once regarded as a powerhouse of Asian football, but since 2010, they have been on the verge of decline.
